17 candidates in fray for Nashik graduates seat

A total of 17 candidates are in fray from Nashik divisional graduates constituency for the state legislative council polls after five candidates withdrew their nomination papers on the last date.
"On the last date for withdrawal of nomination yesterday, five candidates withdrew from the electoral race, while nomination papers of two candidates --- Vijay Gaikwad and Ashok Patil, both independents, were declared invalid during scrutiny," an official release stated today.
The main tussle will be between sitting Congress MLC Sudhir Tambe, BJP's Prashant Patil and CPM candidate Prakash Desale.
There are total 353 polling centres in Nashik division, which comprising five districts -- Nashik 136, Ahmednagar 127, Nandurbar 16, Jalgaon 41, Dhule 33, the release added.
