18 CCTVs to be installed in Udhampur

To monitor any suspicious movement in the city, 18 CCTV cameras will be installed in various parts of Udhampur.
"Very soon 18 CCTV cameras are going to be installed in the Udhampur city in first phase to keep a close eye on suspicious movement," Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu zone, Rajesh Kumar said today while reviewing crime in Udhampur and Reasi districts at a meeting here.
Addressing the meeting, Kumar emphasised on the need for people-friendly approach, saying police should not only be fair but should also be seen as being fair to all.
"Public confidence can be generated through our people-friendly attitude which should be exhibited at all levels," he said, and stressed on professional approach in investigation of crimes, especially in publicly significant cases.
The IGP said that under civic action programme of the department, a project to save the holy Devak from pollution and beautifying it has been taken up on a large scale and work will start soon.
