18 gelatin sticks and six detonators seized from duo

Eighteen gelatin sticks and six detonators were among the explosive material seized from two persons at two different areas in the district today, police said.
They said a gravel contractor was questioned on suspicion at Karunkalakudi and the detonators and some fuse wire seized from him.
On being questioned,he said he had purchased the material from a woman at Ottakovilpatti village. Her house was then raided and the gelatin sticks and 23 gel packets seized from there, police said.
Both of the persons were arrested for possessing explosives without permit, police added.
