As many as 180 bags of poppy husk, hidden in a truckload of raw bananas, were seized at the Baghapurana-Jagraon road in Moga district, police said.
The consignment of poppy husk, weighing over seven quintals, was coming from Rajasthan, they said.
Assistant Inspector General, Counter Intelligence, H P S Khakh said two persons identified as Dharamjit Singh, resident of village Lande-ke, Moga along with Gurbir Singh, resident of village Rattian in Moga have been arrested while the main smugglers Jagdev Singh alias Deban, Shinder Singh, Buta Singh, who belonged to Daulewala village in Moga managed to flee.
Counter Intelligence Wing Jalandhar was keeping a close watch on the activities of drug smugglers of Daulewala village.
"It came to the notice that a particular module of smugglers led by Deban planned to bring consignment of poppy husk from person identified Rahul, resident of Chittorgarh in Rajasthan," he said.
A team of police intercepted the truck coming from Rajasthan to Punjab was intercepted at the Baghapurana-Jagraon road and seized the poppy husk in large quantity.

The consignment of poppy husk was hidden under the raw bananas in the truck, he said.
The AIG said 1 kg of poppy husk is sold at Rs 3,000.
