195 diagnosed with dengue in Doon
Press Trust of India Dehradun The number of dengue cases in Dehradun rose to nearly 200 today but the health administration claimed the situation was under control saying patients were being cured of the virus and all precautionary measures being taken to stop spread of the disease.
Dengue has been confirmed in 195 cases so far, Dehradun's Chief Medical Officer Y S Thapliyal said, adding not a single death due to the disease has been reported yet.
A total of 2,374 blood samples of suspected patients of dengue were sent for tests out of which 195 have been found to be positive, he said.
"However, none of these cases is serious. The patients are not running very high fever and they are being cured after treatment of four five days on an average," Thpaliyal said.
All precautionary measures like fogging, public awareness programmes are being conducted to stop further spread of the virus, he said adding facilities have been made available at all hospitals in the city to deal with the outbreak of the disease, he added.
