1965 war hero Abdul Hamid honoured with Maharana Pratap award

Abdul Hamid, the legendary Indian Army soldier and a hero of 1965 war with Pakistan, has been honoured with the Maharana Pratap Shourya Puraskar here.
Family members of Hamid, who is the recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military decoration, received the award here on Sunday night during the 22nd Rashtriya Kavi Sameelan organised by the Hindi Bashi Ekta Parishad and Rajastani Seva Samiti.
Two more awards-- Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Gourav Puraskar and Dr Harivanshrai Bachchan Sahitya Ratna Puraskar -- were conferred on badminton player Ishan Naqvi and writer Yagya Sharma respectively.
