"We had organised private screening of the film, '1971 India's Finest Hour', at a private building last December which was also attended by West Bengal Governor K N Tripathi," producer of the documentary Pradip Kumar Chopra told PTI today.
"After that there were lots of post-production work to be completed and hence we could apply to the CBFC, Kolkata in March 27 after post-production," Chopra said.
"The one-hour film, made by some students of a city-based institute, has archival footage of the 1971 Liberation War and touched on the role of Indian Army during that period," he said.
CBFC Kolkata, Regional Officer, Ajoy Mahmia said, "We have received the application for certification of '1971 India's Finest Hour' and have taken up the matter."
Media reports yesterday claimed that the film had been screened in a public venue in December last even before it got the Censor certificate and the producers had only applied for the Censor nod couple of days back.
