About 2,200 pilgrims have been evacuated from Gurdwara Gobind Dham situated before famous Sikh pilgrimage Hemkunt Sahib in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand and safely brought to Joshimath.
"Only 200 pilgrims are left in Govind Dham . Around 100 persons, who brought their car, have preferred to stay back in Govind ghat till the time the road is repaired," Narinderjit Singh Bindra, Vice Chairman Gurdwara Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust said.
"With the help of ITBP personnel, we successfully evacuated 2200 pilgrims today," Bindra told PTI.
He lauded the role of ITBP and said, "they have laid a wooden bridge near Gurudwara Govind Ghat and also a rope bridge near Govind Dham."
"Some pilgrims walked to Joshimath with the help of Hemkunt trust volunteers," he said.
No chopper of Punjab government participated in the rescue operations for the second consecutive day, alleged Bindra.
He claimed that no aircraft of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee has contributed in the rescue operations.
