2.5 kg gold seized from woman air passenger

About 2.5 kg gold worth Rs 87 lakh was seized from a woman air passenger who arrived at the international airport here today from Saudi Arabia, customs officials said.
Sheik Mubrarak (25), hailing from Cuddapah in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh arrived here by a flight from Dammam in Saudi Arabia.
A routine check revealed the gold hidden in her undergarments, customs officials said.
She was detained immediately and is being interrogated about the "source and destination" of the gold and whether she was acting as a conduit.
