2.50 kg of gold seized from Abu Dhabi passenger

Gold weighing around 2.50 kg, was seized from a passenger who arrived from Abu Dhabi at nearby Karippur International airport here today.
Air Customs Intelligence officials seized the gold being smuggled in the form of electric hotplate coil, police said.
The seized gold was worth about Rs 70 lakh, they said.
