Security at the hospital had been tightened, senior inspector of Bhoiwada police station Shirish Sawant said, adding that Mirazuddin Siddiqui, father of the deceased boy, and Junaid Qureshi, his relative, were arrested.
Abu Sufiyan, Siddiqui's son, died at 4.45 am today due to 'dengue shock syndrome' while undergoing treatment at the hospital, police said.
Enraged, Mirazuddin called three of his relatives who allegedly started beating three of the doctors with iron rods, wooden sticks and chairs in the hospital premises.
All the doctors at the hospital went on a strike after the incident.
Sufian, a resident of Shivaji Nagar, Govandi, had been brought to the hospital at 11 last night with "non-recordable" pulse and blood pressure, police said.
