Sumit went missing from Sarai Peepal Thala since September 6 and was rescued by police after he was found abandoned in Gokulpuri yesterday, Vijay Singh, DCP (northwest) said.
On the complaint of the child's mother, an FIR, about him going missing, was registered at Mahendra Park police station, police said.
During investigation police questioned the family members and neighbours and suspected Heera, a resident of the locality, of being behind the incident, the officer said.
Raju was arrested and during interrogation admitted of kidnapping the boy along with Heera. Raju also said he has six children including five girls and a boy. He wanted another boy in his family for which he kidnapped Sumit, the officer added.
