Rohit Sabharwal (21) was killed following a brawl at the roadside eatery, police said, adding that the arrested were identified as Vinay Sharma of Jalandhar and Balla of Amritsar.
Five persons including Vinay and Balla were booked under various Sections of IPC, including 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) on a complaint of Kunal Malhotra, a friend of the deceased.
The other three including Rohit Sharma of Amritsar, Sumit Randev and 'Kaka Electrician' of Jalandhar were still at large, police said.
Sabharwal and others had gone to the restaurant to attend a birthday party of their friend Sahil Puri.
Another group of youths was already dining there. The group attacked them when they had objected to their rowdiness, police said.
Sabharwal was killed while four others were injured in the brawl, police said.
