2 arrested with 1.7 kg of Charas in Kupwara

Police today arrested two persons after recovering 1.7 kilograms of Charas from their possession in Kupwara district of Kashmir.
"During checking near Watayan in Handwara area of the district, one person Irshad Ahmad Dar was arrested with Charas weighing about 700gm," a police spokesman said.
The spokesman said Dar was travelling in a bus coming from Srinagar to Handwara.
In another incident, police recovered one kg of Charas from the possession of Hilal Ahmad Dar at Chogal in Handwara, he said adding the accused was taken into custody.
Police have registered separate cases under section 8/20 NDPS Act against the arrested persons in this regard.

"These persons were involved in such dealings from quite something, and regular complaints were received. Police Handwara swung into action and arrested these notorious drug peddlers with contraband," the spokesman added.
