A couple of 22-tonne British era cannons were Sunday shifted from the lawns of Raj Bhavan here to specially created platforms outside the Jal Vihar (banquet hall) in the premises, an official said.
In a statement, Raj Bhavan authorities said the shifting took five hours.
The strategic placement of the cannons will enable dignitaries to see ammunition of an era gone by, it said, adding that people would be able to view them once Raj Bhavan visits resume in October.
The cannons, found in a neglected state at the foothills of Raj Bhavan, were placed temporarily on the lawns of the complex on November 3 last year.
On the advice of Governor C Vidyasagar Rao, they were restored and given anti-oxidizing treatment to prevent rusting, the statement said.
