Sanjay Gupta and Nishand Mandla were arrested on July 16, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, Atul Goel, told reporters here today.
The duo have been found to be involved in a number of burglaries in Domana and Janipur areas of Jammu, Goel said.
"So far, 400 grams of gold related to six complaints at Bakshi Nagar police station and Rs 2,500 in a complaint registered at Nowabad police station have been recovered at the behest of the duo," the SSP said.
The officer, meanwhile, dismissed as rumours reports about some outside gangs of burglars operating in the city.
He said the reports about child lifting gangs have also found to be false.
"No such actual case has been reported to the police," Goel said appealing people not to pay heed to such rumours.
