2 die as cold waves grip UP

Two persons, including a woman, died as cold wave conditions continued in Uttar Pradesh with dense to moderate fog at many places today.
Ganga Ram Rawat (40) and Munni Devi (55) died due to cold in different areas in Barabanki district last night, according to sources.
The MeT department said that the weather was mainly dry over the state.
It said that night temperatures had a marginal rise at Allahabad, Jhansi, Varanasi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Moradabad, Agra, Meerut divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.
It was above normal at Allahabad, Bareilly, Moradabad, Jhansi, Agra, Meerut divisions and normal elsewhere.

Lowest minimum temperature was 4 degrees Celsius recorded at Etawah.
The MeT office here said that weather would be mainly dry over the state and dense to moderate fog would occur at few places tomorrow.
