"Two trucks being driven at high speed and coming from opposite directions, collided head-on and caught fire around 6 PM. Drivers of both the lorries were charred to death in the incident," Sircilla Deputy Superintendent of Police Damera Narsaiah said.
The identity of both the drivers could not be established, police said.
"The number of persons travelling in both the lorries was yet to be known," he said.
The fire brigade team reached the scene immediately and doused the flames, although major portion of the two vehicles was gutted in the blaze by that time.
