2 drug peddlers arrested in J&K; Heroin worth crores seized

Two alleged drug traffickers were today arrested from here after three kilograms of Heroin, worth over Rs three crores in the international market, were recovered from their possession, police said.
Acting on a tip off, a police team from Rajbagh ordered a check-point or barricade at a foot bridge near SPS museum on the banks of River Jhelum in the city, a police spokesman said.
Two drug traffickers were apprehended and three kgs of Heroin were recovered from their possession during the search, he said.
The spokesman said the Heroin was worth crores of rupees in international market.
The arrested peddlers were identified as Mohammad Sabir Barwal and Alam Din Paswal, both residents of Jabra in Uri Tehsil of Baramulla district.
Police has registered a case under section 8/22 NDPS Act and investigation has been taken up, the spokesman said.
