2 drug traffickers held, cocaine worth Rs one crore seized

Two alleged drug traffickers, including a Nigerian national, have been arrested and 80 gram cocaine worth Rs 1 crore in the international market was seized from them, police said today.
According to the police, Vaibhav Gupta (25), and Joshua Izuu (28) were arrested on Saturday by the Special Cell of the Delhi police after it received a tip-off about their movements.
"Information was received that Vaibhav is supplying cocaine to a large number of customers in Delhi and UP after procuring the same from Delhi-based Nigerian traffickers in Paschim Vihar. It was further ascertained that Saturday being a weekend, the supply of cocaine will be in large scale," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.

A trap was laid near Raddisson Hotel, Paschim Vihar, where the consignment of drugs was expected to exchange hands. However, the suspect changed the plans and it was learnt that the exchange of contrabands would take place Khyala Naala Road, near Keshopur Depot, Outer Ring Road, he said.
"Immediately, the team rushed to Khyala drain road and laid a trap. Soon, one person came from Khayala side on a two wheeler while a Nigerian national came from Peeragarhi side. As soon as they exchanged packets, police nabbed them," said Yadav.
As per police, Vaibhav Gupta was apprehended with 10 gram of cocaine while 70 gram was recovered from Joshua Izuu. As per police, the duo are part of a large drug cartel involving Nigerian nationals based in Delhi and Mumbai which trades in high grade cocaine, MD, Ice and other party drugs.

These drug traffickers were supplying drugs to youths at very high rates. They have been procuring these drugs from various parts of India and supplying them in Delhi and NCR areas.
Investigation is on to identify and nab the kingpin of the drug cartel and unearth the entire network, police said.
