Two DTC employees are among six persons arrested for allegedly running an organised racket for recruitment of drivers and conductors for Delhi Cluster Bus Services on the basis of fake documents, police said today.
Pradeep Kumar Duhoon (30), Devender Singh (39), Sanjay Dahiya alias Paramjit (20), Amarjeet (29), Chander (51) and Devi Charan (55) were arrested by Crime Branch of Delhi police on September 4 after it received a tip off about them, police said.
Chander and Devi Charan are conductors in DTC, they said, adding that the arrested accused used to charge Rs 15,000 to 40,000 per candidate for recruitment as driver and Rs 50,000 to 75,000 per candidate for recruitment as conductor.
Several drivers and conductors supplied by the accused allegedly did not have valid driving license and other necessary documents, they said.
"We got an input that Pradeep Kumar Duhoon and Devender Singh are recruiting drivers and conductors on the basis of fake conductor's license-cum-badge and fake driving licenses after taking money," Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said.
Two decoy customers were sent to them and a trap was laid near TR Sawhney Maruti Show Room, Main Wazirabad Road, Meet Nagar. A deal was struck and when Devender handed over a fake Conductor Licence and First Aid Certificate and Pradeep gave the fake Driving Licence, they were apprehended, police said.
During interrogation, Devender allegedly disclosed to police that earlier, he was a driver in a cluster bus and came in touch with Pradeep who was a DTC Bus Driver till he left the job last year.
