In separate cases in the past one week, the city police have arrested two men for allegedly appearing as dummy candidates in the railway recruitment exam, an officer said today.

The accused, identified as Dhiraj Kumar (21) and Ranjit Prasad (22), hail from Nalanda district of Bihar, Palasia Police Station in-charge Ajit Singh Bais said.

"Both the accused were arrested in connection with ongoing Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exam," he said.

Dhiraj Kumar was arrested on August 20 after he was found appearing for the exam in place of Abhimanyu Kumar at RRB examination centre at Islamia Karimiya College in Palasia area, he said.

Before that, police had caught Ranjit Prasad from the same centre on August 14 for giving the exam in place of Santosh Kumar, Bais added.

"A detailed probe is on to find out if there is any big racket behind this. We have also sent our team to Bihar to arrest the candidates for whom these accused were appearing in the examination," he said.
