2 gold chains valued at Rs 17.68 lakh seized from passenger

Two gold chains valued at Rs 17.68 lakh were seized from a man who arrived here from Dubai early today, customs officials said.
The passenger, hailing from Kottayam had arrived by an Emirates flight at 3.30 am, a customs release said, adding that a search revealed that he had hidden the gold chains in a concealed pocket of his trousers.
The passenger had travelled to Dubai 18 times since January this year on business trips.
