2 HC CJs transferred; tenure of Delhi addl judges extended

Chief Justices of two High Courts along with judges of two other High Courts have been transferred while the tenure of four Additional Judges in Delhi has been extended.
Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel has been transferred to the Orissa High Court and asked to assume his new charge by October 24.
In place of Justice Goel, Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre, Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur, has been sent to head the Gauhati High Court, a Law Ministry statement said here.
Justice Karanam Sreedhar Rao, Judge of the Karnataka High Court, has been transferred to the Gauhati High Court. Similarly, Justice Laxmi Kanta Mohapatra, Judge of the Allahabad High Court has been transferred to the Manipur High Court.
Gauhati High Court Additional Judge, Justice Prasanta Kumar Saikia, has been elevated as a Permanent Judge in the same High Court.
Meanwhile, the tenure of 4 Additional Judges of the Delhi High Court has been extended. The Additional Judges are Justices Mukta Gupta, R V Easwar, Pratibha Rani and Sat Paul Garg, the statement added.
