Riaz, alias Raju, and Arif were arrested by the staff of South-East Delhi police who received a complaint from one Abdul Rehman on Tuesday that his younger brother Akram, had left for Bulandshahar with these two men in a car on Sunday but never reached there.
"Rehman told us that when on Monday he inquired from his sister, who lives in Bulandshahar about Akram, she told him that he has not reached there. When he asked Arif regarding the whereabouts of his brother, they could not give any satisfactory answer," said a police official.
During sustained interrogation, they allegedly confessed to have killed Akram by strangulating him near Kalindi Kunj Barrage with their associates namely Farukh and Jamalu in the same car in which they were travelling. Thereafter, they threw the body in Yamuna River, he said.
At their instance, the body was recovered from Yamuna near Kalindi Kunj.
Both Riaz, alias Raju, and Arif were produced in a court which remanded to 3 days police custody. Raids are being conducted in Delhi and Bulandshahar to apprehend Jamalu and Farukh, police said.
