Pushpender (25) and Chandan Singh (28), both belonging to Kapashera area here in southwest Delhi, were arrested on January 17 following a probe into the murder of Ramesh, a casual worker from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, police said today.
Key accused Rajkishore, a native of Jalaun district in UP, is absconding and efforts are on to nab him, they said.
The body of Ramesh was found on January 11 near a pond at 'Shani Mandir' in Kapashera area, police said, adding the probe proceeded after ascertaining the identity of the victim, they said.
The accused, during the probe, said the victim had an illicit relation with a widow and he persisted with it despite warnings.
As the widow was also close to the key accused, they decided to eliminate Ramesh, police said, adding that on the night of January 10, they offered drinks to the victim and later stabbed him to death, they said.
The accused also hit the face of the victim with a stone so that he could not be identified, police said. An FIR for the offence of murder has been registered against them.
