2 held for smuggling Rs 1.34 cr gold, diamonds, goods:official

Gold, diamonds and other luxury goods worth Rs 1.34 crore were recovered today from two persons, who arrived from Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport here, when they were allegedly trying to smuggle the items into the country.
The Air Intelligence Unit of Mumbai Customs, in the first case, arrested one Priyank Morakhiya, who had arrived from the Hong Kong and recovered gold, diamonds and luxury watches worth Rs Rs 87.71 lakh from him, a senior Customs official said.
"We recovered 1.09 grams of gold valued at Rs 23.53 lakh, 456 pieces of diamond worth Rs 16 lakh, and two wrist watches of Audemars Piguet brand worth Rs 48.18 lakh. In total, goods and gold worth Rs 87.71 lakh were recovered from him," said A P S Suri, Commissioner of Customs.
In the another case, the Customs officials arrested one Surur Basha, who had arrived from Abu Dhabi, he said.
"We seized two gold bars, weighing 2,000 grams in total and valued at Rs 46.63 lakh, from him. The gold was concealed inside his shoes," the official said.
