2 held for trying to smuggle 13 tonnes polythene bags into J-K

Two persons, including a truck driver, have been arrested and 13 tonnes of polythene carry bags, which they were allegedly trying to smuggle into Jammu and Kashmir, have been seized in Kathua district, police said today.
Import of polythene bags, in any form, is banned in the state.
Acting on a tip-off, police set up a checkpost on the national highway near Kalibari in the district last evening and intercepted the truck, SSP of Kathua Suleman Choudhary said.
Two persons have been arrested while another one is still absconding, he said, adding a case has been registered and investigation is going on.
