2 IndiGo flyers caught clicking snaps of cabin crew, female

Two flyers on board an IndiGo flight to Guwahati were caught by fellow passengers after they were allegedly found to be clicking photos of the cabin crew members and female passengers.
Confirming the incident, which took place yesterday, the airline said that the matter was being reported to police while it would hold a probe as well on its part.
"Two IndiGo passengers on board flight 6E-221 on March 24 from Delhi to Imphal via Guwahati were observed to be taking pictures/video of our crew and other passengers on board without permission," the airline said in a statement.
This is the second time in recent months when IndiGo passengers have entered into a mid-air brawl.

In early February, a 32-year-old woman confronted a 60- year-old businessman who allegedly molested her on board an Indigo flight from Bhubaneswar to Delhi.
The airline said that the crew had objected to the filming by the two passengers to delete the recording.

"The matter was escalated to the authorities concerned and is being reported to the local police station in Guwahati," the airline said.
IndiGo also said that it remains at the disposal of the other passengers and investigation authorities to extend its assistance for bringing the culprits to justice.
"Our crew are adequately trained to counter any potential disruptive behaviour, keeping in mind the safety of other passengers and crew, that is paramount to us," the airline said in the statement.

IndiGo has a standard, defined procedure approved by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and based on the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, it added.
Global airlines body International Air Transport Association (IATA) has often expressed concern over the rising number of cases of unruly passengers reported by airlines globally.
While there is no official data for India, IATA says that 170 of its 252 member-airlines have reported 'unruly incidents' since 2007. Air India and Jet Airways are IATA members.
IATA had received 8,000 reports of unruly passenger incidents in 2013.
Airlines from around the world had announced that they would work jointly to devise steps for checking the menace at the 70th IATA Annual General Meeting in Doha last year, which also adopted a resolution calling on governments and industry to work together on a balanced package of measures to effectively deter and manage the significant problem of unruly air passenger behaviour.
