2 kids drown, girl crushed to death by truck in Amethi

Two minors drowned and a class 12 girl was run over by a speedy truck in different parts of the district, police said today.
SHO Amethi B Upadhyay said that Amit Kumar Saroj (6) and Shiv Saroj (7) drowned in a pond near their residence in Raipur Dulari while taking a bath.
Both were taken out of the pond and rushed to a community health center where doctors declared them brought dead, he said.
In the other case, a school girl was run over by a truck near Gauriganj on the National Highway stretch between Banda and Tanda.
SHO Gauriganj Dipendra Singh said that Nilam (17) was run over by a speedy truck and died on the spot.

The truck driver fled the scene as irate locals jammed the road which was cleared only after authorities assured them of proper investigation.
An FIR has been lodged at Gauri Ganj police station in this connection.
