The victims were returning to the Nimgul village after a family member's funeral on the banks of Narmada river when the mishap took place yesterday, Additional Superintendent of Police Antarsingh Kanesh said.
Both the victims, identified as Dharmendra Revaram (35) and Totaram (50), died on the spot, he said.
The truck driver fled after the mishap leaving behind the carrier which was impounded by police.
A case has been registered in this regard at Kasrawad police station and further investigation is on.
