The victims took shelter under a tree in the village when rain accompanied by thunderbolt struck the area this evening, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Torpa), Vikay Mahato said.
Two persons identified as Gandurai Tirkey (58) and Kalo Barua (36) were killed on the spot while six other sustained injuries, he said adding that all the injured persons were rushed to Torpa Referral Hospital.
