Two young boys died due to cold wave in Badosarai area of Barabanki district.
Met office said here that maximum temperature was 5 to 9 degrees below normal at some places of the state.
Night temperature fell in Varanasi division. It was markedly below normal in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Kanpur, Agra division and normal in the remaining divisions.
Lowest temperature in the state was recorded in Agra 2.9 (-5) deg C followed by Muzaffarnagar 3.5 (-2) deg C, Kanpur and Varanasi 4.4 (-4) deg C, Gorakhpur 5 (-4) deg C and state capital Lucknow 5.4 (-3) deg C.
Sources forecast that cold wave conditions would prevail at some places over the state in the next 24 hours.
