2 Lankans held at Chennai airport for bid to smuggle gold

Two Sri Lankan nationals were arrested at the airport here today for allegedly trying to smuggle gold worth Rs 19 lakh.
Customs officials detained them at the airport here on their arrival from Colombo after they were found carrying 294 gm and 296 gm of gold, respectively, airport sources said.
Meanwhile, a 60-year old Tanzanian national, identified as Elfalah Khamos Nassor, died of a cardiac arrest on his arrival here.
He had come here for medical treatment alongwith his wife, the sources added.
