A man and his associate were today arrested by police for allegedly impersonating Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav's son Prateek Yadav and calling state ministers for getting contracts.
Ram Shankar Shakya and Firaq Hussain were arrested by the police from Hazratganj area here on charges of using a mobile number purchased in the name of Prateek on address of 5, Vikramaditya Marg, the official residence of Mulayam Singh Yadav, police said.
State Mining Minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati had registered a complaint at Gautampalli Police station when he got a call from Shakya, who claimed himself to be Prateek and asked him to provide mining work to some person.

Shakya also used to call in the name of UP cabinet minister Shivpal Yadav to party ministers and officers for getting his work done, police said.
A number of fake IDs including Shakya's identity card as IAS officer and documents regarding transfer and appointment of government employees were recovered from his possession.
