Paramilitary rangers today claimed to have killed two militants belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in the city.
A spokesman for the rangers said that Saeedullah and Azam Mehsud were killed during an exchange of fire in Manghopir area.
"A operation was conducted in the area on a tip-off and we seized pistols and hand grenades during the raid besides various identity cards," he said.
On November 13 last year, the rangers had killed three militants of the TTP in the Landhi area.
While on October 2, security forces killed six TTP militants during two encounters and claimed to have recovered a huge cache of weapons and 200 kgs of explosives.
Security forces have expressed fears that the TTP have infiltrated into some areas of Karachi and set up safe houses from where they operate.
