2 PGIMS Rohtak doctors to be served charge sheet: Har govt

Haryana government today said it will serve charge sheet to two doctors of PGIMS, Rohtak for their alleged lapse in providing medical treatment to late Master Hukam Singh, ex-chief minister of the state.
The two doctors who will be served charge sheet are Rohtas K Yadav, Director and Dhruva Chaudhary, Senior Professor and Head, Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine of Pt B D Sharma, PGIMS, Rohtak, according to an official release here.
The Governor of Haryana and Chancellor of Pt B D Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak has appointed Dr K B Gupta, Senior Professor and Head, TB and Respiratory Medicine Department, PGIMS, as officiating Director in place of Dr Yadav till the regular recruitment is made, it said.
Similarly, it has also been decided to critically examine the role of Dr Ashok Kumar Chauhan, Medical Superintendent by Additional Chief Secretary Medical Education and Research Ram Niwas, said the release.
Earlier, on March 12, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had ordered setting up of a committee to inquire the alleged delay by PGIMS, Rohtak, in providing ambulance service to the former chief minister.
The committee was asked to inquire into the alleged delay in providing ambulance to Hukam Singh.

On March 10, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij had recommended suspension of two senior doctors of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak -- Yadav and Choudhary for allegedly delaying in providing ambulance service to Hukam Singh.
Hukam Singh (89), who was the chief minister of the state during 1990-91, passed away at a private hospital in Gurgaon on February 26, a day after being shifted from Rohtak.
Earlier, Singh was admitted to the PGIMS in Rohtak on February 12 for an ailment.
