2 police officials arrested in separate bribery cases in Rajasthan

Two assistant sub-inspectors were arrested from Jaipur and Dholpur in two separate cases of bribery, an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) spokesperson said on Thursday.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Ratiram Yadav was arrested in Jaiipur for taking bribe of Rs 75,000 through a middleman to remove names of some women from an FIR and weaken the case, an official said.

Yadav had initially demanded Rs 1.5 lakh but the deal was settled at Rs 75,000, Additional SP Prithviraj Meena said, adding the middleman has also been arrested.

In Dholpur district, Assistant Sub-Inspector Babulal, posted at Sepau police station, was arrested for demanded Rs 1,500 a man to remove his name from a police case. The accused had taken Rs 500 from the man earlier, the ACB spokesperson said.

A plumber, Zakir Hussain, posted at a state industrial training institute in Dungarpur district, was arrested while taking Rs 5,500 bribe to facilitate a student's offline admission in the institute, he said.
