2 ULFA(I) linkmen held

Two linkmen of ULFA(I) were apprehended and a cache of arms and ammunition were recovered from them in Kakopathar area of Tinsukia district today, police said.
Additional Superintendent of Police Lamhao Dongol said an operation was launched by a joint team of Assam Police and CRPF personnel after receiving an information from Kakopathar police station.
The security team apprehended two persons, identified as Ridip Neog alias Bijoy Moran and Minali Gohain.
From them, one M-20 pistol, two rounds ammunition, one bottle grenade, one motorcycle and two mobile handsets were recovered.
A case has been registered in this regards and interrogation is going on, Dongol said.
