A group of masked Maoist ultras came to Hamsda village on Thursday night, dragged Sonaram Sirka and Bamia Sirka out of their houses and gunned them down, officer-in-charge of Jetya police station, Surendra Prasad Yadav said.
It is suspected that the leader of the gang was one Sandeep-da.
Though the incident occurred at Thursday night, police were informed only last evening as the villagers were scared of more attacks by Maoists, Yadav said.
As the incident took place in a naxal-affected area, police could not reach the spot owing to darkness.
