Two youths have been arrested for robbing and beating a taxi driver in southeast Delhi's Sunlight Colony area, police said today.
The accused have been identified as 23-year-old Mohd Salman and 24-year-old Askeem Ahmad Qureshi, said Romil Baaniya, DCP (Southeast).
On September 13, Avnish Kumar, a taxi driver, approached the police saying that he was thrashed and robbed of Rs 2,600 by three boys riding a motorcycle near Ring Road.
A vehicle checking drive was launched on the main routes during which the motorcycle wanted in this case was noticed, the officer said.
"The bikers were signaled to stop but they sped away and were apprehended after a short chase. Efforts are being made to trace the absconding accomplice of the duo," he said.
