Two youths were killed and another injured when their car skidded and hit the divider of National Highway 1 here today, police said.
Navdeep Singh, 22, died on the spot, while Germanjit Singh, 23, and Gursevak Singh, 25, were rushed to a hospital in Jalandhar, a police official said.
Germanjit later succumbed to injuries, while the condition of Gursevak is said to be critical. The trio belonged to Bhogpur town of Jalandhar district and was travelling to Ludhiana, the official said.
Eyewitnesses said the car was over-speeding and overturned before hitting the divider. It was mangled almost beyond recognition, he said.
Navdeep was preparing papers for going abroad and was travelling to Ludhiana to get his file checked from someone before sending it for visa, he added.
