According to District Magistrate C P Tripathi, members of the two groups attacked each other with sticks after they couldn't reach an agreement on the price of a goat on sale.
About 20 people from both the sides were injured in the incident, of which eight had to be admitted to the district hospital, the DM said.
Senior officials have reached the spot, Tripathi said, adding, a team of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) has also been deployed in the village to check the situation.
