43-year-old Zhulgieu was to travel by a Malaysian Airlines flight to Kuala Lumpur.
As his movements raised suspicion, customs officials interrogated him leading to the recovery of the red sanders logs kept in his baggage, airport sources said.
The logs, whose trade is banned, were worth Rs 50 lakh in the illegal international market, they said.
The Chinese national was arrested after he was handed over to the State forest department personnel, they added.
