"The aim of the expedition is to promote 'spirit of adventure' and connect with the youth of Kerala and motivate them to save our environment," a Navy release said here today.
The event advocates the use of bicycle as a means of transport to promote 'Go Green Initiative' thereby reducing pollution and preserving the atmosphere, it said.
The event was flagged off this morning from SFNA, Naval Base, Kochi by Commodore N Anil J Joseph VSM, Chief Staff Officer to Flag Officer Sea Training.
During the Expedition, the Naval personnel would also visit the College of Engineering, Cherthala and Saintgits College of Engineering, Kottayam.
The young and budding students at these educational institutions would be given a brief insight into the life in the Navy to inspire them to join the elite arm of the Armed Forces, the release added.
