City police sources said that the incident took place as the bus, which was plying on a road with tram tracks, lost control and turned on one side, causing injury to most of its passengers.
Both the police and fire brigade personnel rescued the trapped passengers from the bus and took them to nearby hospital.
The condition of none of the passengers was serious. There was no casualty in the incident, sources said.
