A 20-year-old man working in a wooden box manufacturing firm was arrested for allegedly killing a colleague in Shil Daighar area of Mumbra township here, Thane police said Tuesday.
The body of the deceased, identified as Baliram Shivbalak Prajapati, was found on November 24 and the accused Farman Lukman Khan was missing since then, police said.
Preliminary investigations pointed to Khan's involvement in the crime and three police teams were set up to nab him, the official added.
Acting on a tip-off that Khan was at Kalyan station to board a train to his native Uttar Pradesh, a police team reached there, the official informed.
"After checking the CCTV footage of the station, we found that Khan had boarded Pushpak Express. We alerted Bhusawal and Khandwa railway police to nab Khan en route," he said.
Khandwa police nabbed him from the train after which Thane police brought him to the city on November 25, he said.
He was produced in court and remanded in police custody till November 30, said senior inspector Mangesh Sawant of Shil Daighar police station.
