The incident took place this morning when Pooja, working in the showroom at Bank Road here, went to the third floor and threatened to jump from the spot, they said.
Hearing her voice, shopkeepers in the area rushed to towards her and pleaded not to jump while some others hurried to the third floor to rescue her, Investigating Officer Mahendra Singh of City police station said.
But before anyone could stop her, Pooja jumped from the third floor and hit a 11,000 KV electric wire in front of the showroom before hitting on the ground, he said.
Police have tried to get a statement from the victim but the doctors said that she is not is a state to do so , the investigating officer said, adding probe is underway.
