Health Minister A K Walia said the hospital will have a number of departments such as internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and orthopaedics besides emergency and OPD services.
The Health department has engaged National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC), a government of India Enterprise, for construction of the hospital.
A Memorandum of Agreement was signed today between the Health department and NBCC for the project.
"The hospital will be a multi-speciality hospital having departments such as internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics and orthopaedics," Walia said.
The construction of the hospital will be completed within 24 months, Walia added.
