The partially functional Deep Chand Bandhu hospital had no bed capacity until now and was providing basic health services.
Beds were introduced in view of the government's recent move to add 1,000 similar units. Health Minister Satyendra Jain had directed that the new beds be urgently bought to accommodate dengue patients at government hospitals.
"200 beded new Deep Chand Bandhu hospital at Ashok Vihar opened for Dengue/fever patients today," Jain tweeted.
